I’m Answering Questions Today

Today I am answering a few questions from Julie from The Path to An Organized Tomorrow today.  Here goes:

Why do you blog?

I blog because I want to help other moms save time while still meeting goals . I have been in the productivity field and have found ways to streamline tasks and this is my outlet share ideas and experiences.   I have applied these techniques to work, family and home life over the years.

Does the scope of subject matter and target audience of your blog today match what you envisioned when you started?

I think when I started I expected to have a target audience of moms, but really a lot of women and men want to maximize their time.

What was your favorite book as a child?

The Pokey Little Puppy. I think I admired his perseverance and determination.

What is your favorite season?

That would be summer. I love the warm evenings and I also get to wear dresses on the summer, which I love.

Is form or function more important to you?

Since I am a type A personality, I would have to say function is probably a little more my style. However, I appreciate creativity and design.  I am inspired by many blogs that promote this.

If you could have one day to do anything, what would it be?

I would spend it at the beach, and watch the sun set with my husband.

If you use a smartphone, what app can you not live without?

My photo app.  Seriously, how did I not photograph so many of life’s little moments before?

What is your favorite board game?

Scrabble, but I really love playing card games more than board games.

Would you rather have a maid, a personal chef, or a gardener?

I think I would say a maid, because I like to cook, but a personal chef does sound kind of cool.  Sometimes I just want to eat without cooking.

What is the most organized room in your house?

The family room upstairs.  My kids are out of the house now, so it stays really clean.

What qualities of you do you see in your children?

My son is very analytical and my daughter is super organized.  My daughter is more creative than I am and my college son is a better technical writer than I am.

I am answering these questions as part of the Liebster Blog Award Nomination.  I would like to thank Julie f nominating me for the Liebster Blog Award.  This award is a way growing bloggers acknowledge each other and say “you’re doing a great job”. It is for blogs with 200 or less followers, so it’s also a great way to spread the word about smaller blogs and get them more readers and followers! When you receive the award, you answer 11 questions from the person(s) who nominated you. You pass the Award onto 11 other blogs (make sure you tell them you nominated them!) and ask them 11 questions. You’re not allowed to nominate the blog(s) who nominated you!  You can also answer random facts about yourself.  See more facts about me here.

So, here are my 11 blogs that I am nominating, in no particular order.  It is hard to know how many followers a blog have, so I am nominating some of my favorites that have less than 200 GFC or Facebook followers. Check them out:

Versatile Blogger Award

I just wanted to thank Jean from So Not Organized for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award!  Coming from someone like her, means the world to me.   As part of this nomination, I am required to share 7 random facts about myself as well as nominate 15 other blogs for this award.

  • I tend to collect and organize art supplies more than I actually use :/
  • I played a nun in Sound of Music in high school and it is still one of my favorite musicals
  • I love watching Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Undercover Boss and Masterchef
  • I am currently reading the Steve Jobs book and it is truly fascinating
  • If I could live anywhere else for several months, I would live in Paris
  • I am totally loving the song Call Me Maybe right now and listen to it several times a day
  • My favorite soft drink is Fresca – random right?

Ok, now for the fun part.  I get to nominate other blogs.

There are so many that I love and I have nominated before, see here and here.

One Lovely Blog Award

I am so appreciative of Cari, the genius behind NighLon.  She is a incredibly supportive blog friend and an excellent graphic artist (she created my header and button).  Thank you Cari for nominating me for the Lovely Blog Award.

The requirements are:

1. Thank the person who honored them with this award and post their links (see above) and check her other website at The Palmetto Queen.
2. Share 5 interesting things about myself:

  • I am a former auditor and productivity manager (not the most popular person)
  • I talk to myself out loud sometimes when I am trying to remember things (just for a few seconds….not like long conversations or anything super-weird)
  • I love classic rock and often sing the wrong lyrics to songs (my kids get annoyed with this)
  • I own about 35 pairs of shoes (my shopping weakness, ok, maybe 40)
  • I am a UCLA Bruins football fan & go to most of their home games.
  • I love the support of the on-line blogging community (and have trouble following directions because this is actually six things)

3. Nominate 5 bloggers for this award:

Check out the amazing blogs above & thank you for stopping by the Island!
